As many of you already know, I work a lot with Avaya technology. This puts me very close to Session Managers, Communication Managers, System Managers, and all kinds of One-X endpoints. More importantly, it puts me close to the users of that technology. I regularly speak with small, medium, and large businesses and enterprises on how to make their communications systems work smarter and more efficiently.
One of my favorite places to meet Avaya users is at the annual IAUG conference. This year, Converge 2014 was held in Dallas, Texas and I was asked to present three different sessions on SIP related topics. While the sessions were well attended, I know that the audience for this material is much larger than the folks who came to see me speak.
With that in mind, I worked with the marketing folks at Arrow S3 to put together a summer series of webinars that re-present those sessions. So, not only do you have an opportunity to see my three sessions, but you can also tune into the educational sessions that were given by my partners in unified communications.
I will let my friends plug their presentations, but I will be speaking about the following subjects:
TUES., JULY 15, 10–11AM CDT: BUILDING A SECURE SIP NETWORK:
As you transition your communications systems to IP and SIP, security needs to be high on your list of priorities. Are you looking to add mobile SIP endpoints? Are you aware of the different ways to secure SIP traffic and media? There are a lot of different SBCs out there to choose from. Do you know which make and model is the right one for what you are trying to accomplish? This webinar will help you understand SIP security as well as assist you in choosing the SBC that best meets your needs. If you are about to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in a SIP infrastructure, you owe it to yourself and your enterprise to learn how to do it safely.
TUES., JULY 29, 10–11AM CDT: SIP BEYOND DIAL TONE:
There isn’t a lot of value in simply replacing existing digital or IP telephones with SIP telephones. While SIP is a great protocol for delivering dial tone, its real worth lies in all the other things it can do. This webinar will look at SIP as a way to empower an enterprise with a myriad of powerful unified communications tools that go well beyond dial tone and basic phone calls.
TUES., AUG. 19, 10–11AM CDT: UNDERCOVER SIP:
SIP has been around for over 10 years, but can you truly claim to understand what is going on underneath the covers? Do you have a good understanding of SIP message types and response codes? Would you feel comfortable trying to solve a problem between two SIP telephones? This webinar will take you deeper into the SIP protocol than perhaps you’ve ever gone. While geared toward a technical audience, all the important facets of SIP will be explained in ways that are easy to understand and, more importantly, remember.
