I am coming up to the one year anniversary of this blog and so I decided to do something a little different. Instead of writing two or three pages about a particular SIP request or response message, I want to give you something a little bigger. In this case, 26 pages bigger.
Since 2012, I have been fiddling with a whitepaper that walks the reader through many of the different aspects involved in moving to SIP. I’ve addressed several of these topics in various blog articles, but this document attempts to pull them all together into one cohesive flow of ideas.
My whitepaper has a definite Avaya slant, but most of the concepts are universal to any SIP implementation. Session management is session management whether you choose to implement it with an Avaya, Cisco, or Oracle Acme. How you choose a session border controller is the same for any unified communications platform.
